Sahana..my 2 year old daughter has a new item in her menu and that is simply a pakoda. I don’t know may be she fascinated by the term pakoda. So If she was wishing to have pakoda, I had to make something different but healthy and nutritious with the combination of spinach, potato and onion. I have also added green chili but not for my kid, its only for others. Just enjoy this Mixed Palak Pakoda with a hot cup of tea or chutney can be the perfect accompaniment to this wonderful snack that is sure to leave you licking your finger tips.
Ingredients For Mixed Palak Pakoda
Gram Flour (Besan) – 3/4 Cup
Rice Flour – 1/4 Cup
Finely Chopped Spinach – 1 Cup
Finely Chopped Potato – 1/2 Cup
Finely Chopped onion – 1/2 Cup
Finely Chopped Green Chili – 1 tablespoon
Chopped Coriander – 2 tablespoon
Chat Masala – 1 teaspoon
Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Fennel Seeds – 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method For Mixed Palak Pakoda
Combine the gram flour and rice flour together in a bowl and gradually add some water and make a mixture with thin consistency.
Whisk the batter for 4 -5 mins so that the batter becomes smooth and soft.
Add all the other ingredients in the batter and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan, pour some batter mixture in oil using a spoon or hands.
Fry as many as possible pakoda at a time in pan using hands or spoon.
Deep fry the pakoda till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
Take out the pakoda and serve hot.
While pouring the pakoda in the hot oil the temperature of oil should not be too high otherwise they will turn golden brown fast from outside and could not be cooked from inside.
