Kids Special-Chocolaty Coffee Cup Cakes

Creating recipes is always fun, and if it’s for kids it’s that much more special. So what works best for your kids when they are not in a mood to eat anything? A few things, right? How about chocolate :). It works, always works. At least with me it always has. So it wasn’t a surprise that I let this one be done by kids (under adult supervision, obviously).

The recipe is a little here n there so make sure to follow it step by step. And don’t worry, we do have the video recipe as well so you can refer to it once you are through this text and downloadable version of the recipe.

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Yield: 6 cakes

Serving Size: 1 each

  1. All Purpose Flour : 1 cup
  2. Powder Sugar : 1/2 cup
  3. Vegetable Oil : 1/2 cup
  4. Coffee Powder : 1 tbsp
  5. Salt : 1/2 tsp
  6. Condensed Milk : 1/2 cup
  7. Milk : 1 cup
  8. Baking Powder : 1 tsp
  9. Baking Soda : 1/2 tsp
  10. Vanilla Essence : 1 tsp
  11. Dark Chocolate (Melted) : 1.5 tbsp

  1. Start by taking the powder sugar into a bowl

  1. Add condensed milk to it
  2. Mix it nicely; better would be to beat the mix
  3. Once done, add the vegetable oil to it and mix it nicely
  4. Sift the all purpose flour, coffee powder, baking powder and baking soda and add all these to the mix

  1. Add Milk and mix well so as to avoid any lump formation in it
  2. Now add the vanilla essence and melted dark chocolate to this mix
  3. Add salt as well and mix it nicely once more
  4. Once its mixed nicely, you complete the batter preparation for our cup cakes. Time to bake!
  5. Put the oven to preheat at 180°C
  6. In the meantime, start putting butter paper to the microwave safe cup cake moulds
  7. Now add the batter to these moulds to fill the cup cake shaped butter paper to 2/3rd of their capacity

  1. Make sure not to put more than 2/3rd or else the batter will over flow as you bake them
  2. Once done with the filling see that the oven is ready, if so put the moulds to oven for baking
  3. Leave the moulds in the oven for around 15-20 min (mine were ready in close to 20)
  4. Do a check that they have baked properly or else bake them a little more as per need
  5. Once done, take them out of the oven and let them cool for around 5 min
  6. Time to demould and maybe garnish them with a little sprinkle of icing sugar

And like we said at the start, there would be a video recipe to help you with the step by step process on the whole process. So here it is. Oh and by the way, a couple of kids did this video recipe (with adult supervision) so I am sure you will enjoy it that much more :). Do let us know in the comments!!
